The heart of the house and ultimate social space. Perfect to host your tea party or enjoy private dining. The Enchanted Table (yes, it really is) can seat 16 guests as a one-piece but seamlessly splits in 2 to seat 24 guests. The chairs are tea cups! There is an over-sized high backed silver arm chair for the guest of honour. Around the table is text from the tea party scene in Alice in Wonderland. The floor is chequerboard and the shelves store all the vintage crockery you could need, cake stands, tea pots, sugar bowls etc. iPod docks and TV with built-in dvd player. If the inside isn’t enough for the senses there’s also a stunning sea view from the bay window. You will LOVE this room!
Due to the huge size of the house and to give flexibility we decided on 2 kitchens.
The main kitchen is open plan to the dining space to enable maximum socialising. It boasts 2 ovens, 5 ring gas hob, set of chefs knives, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and all the pots and pans you could need. The 8 slice toaster is ideal for large scale breakfasts, electric whisk, microwave and 3 kettles for loads of cups of tea! The movable kitchen island extends to double as a cocktail bar. There are glasses for wine & champagne and tumblers for long cocktails.
The smaller kitchen on the lower ground floor with a bathroom and Mirror Mirror bedroom means that this floor can be used as a self-contained apartment. You can have the stairway open to the rest of the house or closed for privacy. Oven, hob, fridge with ice shelf, microwave, sink, washing machine, table and chairs for 3 guests. French doors open onto the patio.
Quirky outdoor space with table and chairs for 2.
3 beautiful shower rooms with vintage tiles, traditional basins with wash stands and super, hot showers. The Jabberwocky W.C on the top floor is the 4th toilet in the house. It has dragons on the walls and a novelty hand basin!
